About

Everyone wants life to make sense. Figuring out how to navigate through the world in which we live is what helps us meet the two most important needs we have: security and significance. Even people who appear to have given up on life will raise their heads in hopeful expectation if they see even a glimmering opportunity to gain a greater level of personal safety or have others affirm their sense of self-worth.

The vast majority of people place their confidence in whatever seems to bring them the most immediate comfort, perpetual distraction, or will naively follow others who seem to appear more confident in their pursuit of a meaningful existence. Unfortunately, all these paths consistently lead down a maze of roads with confusing twists and turns that ultimately end up leading nowhere. Offering only temporary hope followed by disappointment and discouragement it creates a situation which often brings about apathy, more uncertainty, depression, or even angry jaded cynicism. What’s worse yet, the really important questions about life are still left unexplained. So when people finally face a serious tragedy or even death, which everyone does, they find themselves having no more of a hold on reality or confident victory over life’s insecurities than when they began their search for safety and significance. All paths led to “non-sense.”

I believe what makes perfect sense is to know that we have been created by a God who is not only very good and loving but right from out birth has always had a personally tailored eternal plan and purpose for our lives. What all people need to learn is what P. C. Ainsworth preached: “In the world of abiding realities, obscurity is a fiction of the worldly minded, the shadow of self-ignorance, a misinterpretation of life. Wherever you are, the light of the all-beholding God is upon you, and the deep reverences and the high hopes and the eternal meanings of life are all about you.” If we cannot escape God’s judgment seat when we die (Heb. 9:27; Rev.20:12-15), then it only follows — rationally and sensibly — our faithful and generous Creator has provided a means by which that end will turn out with unbelievably glorious results. Let me put it another way, if God is so meticulously concerned with everything we do then the motive behind it must be to see that we are rewarded for seeking Him — “The Lord your God in your midst, The Mighty One, will save; He will rejoice over you with gladness, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” (Zeph. 3:17)

It is not well thought out or sensible to believe we exist because of a random set of events; neither are we tossed about by chance happenings and unexplainable circumstances. I am totally convinced that God’s eternal purpose and creation design in Jesus Christ can be the only foundation for reality that makes sense — both objectively and subjectively, the way it should be. A real God produces real life experiences. There is no other plausible way to interpret humanity’s historical past, present events, or to sanely predict what the future will hold without the stable and responsible frame of reference Jesus Christ provides — and this is true for everyone, everywhere, and at all times.

It only follows that the most important thing you and I can discover is our place and role within the grand narrative of God’s eternal purpose. While this might sound a bit simplistic way to describe a website/blog objective, my point is not just to show that turning to, and journeying with, Jesus Christ is “the only faith that makes sense,” but that the “mystery of creation” itself is so absolutely and gloriously perfect it could only be conceived and meticulously executed by the one true God — Father, Son and Holy Spirit — as revealed in the Bible.

Obviously I’m a Christian. I live in Chatham, Ontario, Canada, forty-five minutes from the Detroit, U.S.A. border — a rather unique place in itself, for many reasons (but that’s for a later time). Born again, Evangelical (as perspectives go), and 40 years of spiritual growth behind me (not that all those years have been fruitful by any means) has helped to give perspective to what I believe is taking place in our world. Being born in 1960 has also been an amazing time to live. I’ve seen a lot happen over the years and experienced a lot as far as cultural changes in Western civilization. Ideally, watching it go from bad to worse in the social/moral sphere, both outside and inside the Western body of Christ. Canada, once was considered a “Christian nation,” is a claim and title removed by both the United Nations and the Supreme Court of Canada (1985). It’s thoroughly become liberal (moral relativism), and secular (does not acknowledge the sovereignty of it’s Creator). If my first goal is to show that God’s eternal purpose in Jesus Christ is so absolutely brilliant, perfect in its design, and worth committing your whole heart to , my second is to show precisely and systematically why Canada went totally south over the last 120 years, and the West as a whole. I hope this website/blog become so thorough in its depiction of how our modern civilization has wilfully turned its back on their Creator it will make the sensible Christian think we should go down in the chronicles of human history as the poster child for a step-by-step manual on “How to become a thoroughly godless country in three easy stages.”

Attempting to accomplish the two goals above it is also my hope and expectation that from this website/blog you will gain a much deeper knowledge and revelation of Jesus Christ, understanding of the Bible, and capture a totally new perspective of Canada, the Western world, and the way it all fits meticulously in with the eschatological events found in the book of Revelation — God’s end-game-plan for humanity itself. If you’re a person that is asking the question — “What in the world is going on today?” I believe I can answer that question in a Biblical, intelligent, and practical way that comes from “a faith that makes sense.”

So thanks for coming, and I hope the result of your stay causes you to love the one true God so much more (or for the first time!) that your journey through this life becomes exceedingly rich and deep in the grace and truth Jesus Christ came to give us.

“Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” Phil. 3:12-14

“REAL GOLD IS NOT AFRAID OF FIRE.”

The Cross is the exhibition of the nature of God, the gateway whereby any individual of the human race can enter into union with God.

Oswald Chambers

We don’t claim to be perfect, but we do claim to be sincere, and he who is sincere is not afraid to be tested and tried. Real gold is not afraid of fire.

Charles H Spurgeon

History shows that people who believe and live in response to the good news are not naive innocents, but the most clearsighted realists.
