Welcome to “A Faith That Makes Sense.”

This site is dedicated to showing that faith in Jesus Christ is not just the way to inherit eternal life but also the only way to make perfect sense of the world in which we all live. As Jesus said, “I am the light of the world, he that follows me shall not walk in darkness but shall have the light of life.” Having the light of Christ in us means walking in it — “But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.” (1 John 1:7) If “following” Jesus meant only the forgiveness of sin, we would still be left on our own with the same weaknesses and failures. It is through the cleansing blood of Christ we are made fit to become habitations (temples) for the Holy Spirit to dwell in us and work out a maturing process called “sanctification,” (Col. 1:12-14 & 2 Peter 1:3,4) It is my hope that this site will aid you in that sanctification process by offering clarity between what it is written in God’s Word and how it relates to the culture and age in which we find ourselves. May the Holy Spirit use to that end for the glory of God our Father and our Lord Jesus Christ.

In order to navigate around this site and understand its focus you should know up front that we’re largely talking here about the influences of culture on the church. There are many other sites and ministries to offer and endless array of good quality teaching on every aspect of the Christian life. There are 3 things that can give you an overview of where I’m coming from: (1) understanding the big picture of creation — God’s eternal glory that answers the questions surrounding where we are and why we’re here; (2) how the three primary enemies of the church — the world, the flesh, and the devil — subtly and deceptively work against our relationship with the Trinity (through what Jacques Ellul would call sociological propaganda); and (3) suggestions as to how we can grow in Christian maturity through the disciplines of studying Scripture, prayer and fellowship.

It is helpful if you first go to the Home Page, put your cursor over “The Faith,” and in the drop-down menu start with “The Gideon Syndrome” and then move through the series of Pages related to “Spellbound.” Lord willing, things will transition smoothly from there. Blessings.
